On Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at approximately 6:00 pm, firefighters responded to a newly reported wildfire “Mosquito Fire” near Mosquito Ridge Road on the north side of the OxBow Reservoir east of Forest Hill, Placer County, California.
Pacific Gas & Electric Co. submitted an Electric Incident Report to the California Public Utilities Commission. PG&E says one of its poles was near where the fire started and an electrical fault was recorded close to the start of the Mosquito Fire.
- The U.S. Forest Service has placed caution tape around the base of the PG&E transmission pole (60Kv).
- The cause of the massive Mosquito Fire has not been determined.
