On Friday, September 2, 2022 at approximately 12:49 pm, firefighters responded to a newly reported wildfire “Mill Fire” near Woodridge Court and Woodridge Way in the city of Weed, Siskiyou County, California.
Multiple media outlets said the Mill Fire started in the area of the Roseburg Forest Products mill. Cal Fire could not confirm this and said the exact location where the Mill Fire started and the cause is under investigation.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency late Friday 9/2/22 for Siskiyou County, confirming an undisclosed amount of homes had been destroyed due to the Mill wildfire, and stating that more than 5,000 residents from the communities of Weed, Little Shastina, and Edgewood were being put under evacuation orders.
The cause remains under investigation. If a third-party is found to be responsible for causing the fire, you may be entitled to damages that your insurance – even good insurance — won’t cover. In addition to underinsured homes, most insurance policies don’t cover natural vegetation that is not part of the landscaping, or compensation for you or your family for the emotional upheaval caused by the Mill Fire.
If you or a loved one has been a victim of a wildfire, we will seek damages on your behalf for the losses you have incurred with absolutely no up-front expenses from you, and no costs unless you win.
